PIERCINGS!
Each to their own I suppose. My own ears are pierced, but nontheless, I cannot comprehend why people would want 'other bits' piercing. Not going into all the many places it can be done, as I get too squeamish! But, the ones on full view that I cannot understand and don't particularly like looking at, are....
1. The face. Why would anyone want a metal bar, stud or ring sticking out of various places on their face?
2. The bellybutton. You could just get a stick-on adornment rather than have a piercing, what happens when pregnant and the belly stretches, does the piercing hole stretch too? Ewww!
3. The nose. How do these people blow their noses without being in extreme pain?
and finally......
4. The tongue. Juth thinking about it makth me thpeak funny.
When I see tiny babies with pierced ears, I cringe, I know it is a fashion statement, but it's a fashion statement by the Mother, the child didn't have a choice! How could a Mother subject their baby to that.
My own Daughter is now seven. If, when she reaches sixteen (as I was), she wants her ears pierced then that is her own choice. I just hope she leaves the rest of her face and body alone. YUK!!!

I agree. Especially when even lower 'bits' are considered for piercing...

Ewwww!!!!
Yes, it mwakth me thpeak fwunny too. LOL>
Cathy came to visit and said you were hilarious so I thought I'd drop on by. She's right!
As for piercings, the people that wear more metal than you could find at your average scrapyard make me cringe. I'm all for making a statement but just what are they trying to say apart from "Don't bring that magnet near me mate!"
I am right there with you. When I was growing up, ear piercing was the new rage. I begged for one when I was nine because several of the girls in my class had some. He said, "If God wanted holes in your ears, He'd have put them there Himself!"
When I was fifteen, he wanted to buy my mom earrings. Most earrings were studs or made for pierced ears. He couldn't find the clamp on ones. He told my mom to get her ears pierced and he let us girls get one, too.
But, I actually have to refrain from whincing when I see someone with a tiny loop hanging around the eyebrows or lip. Ouch.
I will allow my kids to get ear pierced, but I sure hope they don't fancy wanting to get other "bits" to bite holes into their body. (Shuddering). My rebellious niece did that (tongue and navel). Ugh.
The navel piercing - I knew a young woman who had it done then got pregnant. Let's just say you have to remove it in good time.
Once again. Ewwwwww!
I got my left ear pierced when I was 16 years old - against my mother's permission. She cried for one week...
Shortly after I got my ear pierced, I got my hoop stuck in the threads of a pillow on my bed while sleeping...the pain was incredible - and I learned my lesson - listen to mom! I took the earring out that night and never put it back in. heheh

Last post deleted coz my brain went haywire and my spelling was idiotic!
I was trying to say, I took my pierced earrings out when I had my daughter as their little hands grab at anything!! Not wore any since.
I agree. I use to have my ears pierced and couldn't even handle that . Seeing babies with piercings bothers me - I don't get it, it seems like they could get hurt - what benefits are there? Also, thanks for the comment on my blog, I like your blog as well!
