THE PEACE IS ABOUT TO BE SHATTERED!

One week of peace left before the six weeks school holidays is upon us!
Don't know about you, but I'm dreading it! Especially with the weather the way it is. Six weeks of trying to amuse a seven year old who you can't throw outside to play because of all this rain! There's only so much painting, drawing, cutting and gluing you can do for six whole weeks!

Scrapbooking

The housework comes to a total stop (not that it isn't just a slow crawl normally!) "Mum, watch this", "Mum, come and help me do that", "Mum, can we go somewhere", "Mum, I'm bored, think of something I can do", "Mum, when is the rain going to stop", "Mum", "Mum", "Mum"!
Then again, if it were sunny, I'd be moaning that it costs too much to have days out here and there. First, the travel cost, unfortunately I don't drive so would need to take the bus then a coach or train, then there are the entrance fees, food and drinks, then the souvenir shops! My Daughter thinks we have a money tree in our back garden!
Being an unemployed Mum and carless, can make this a very difficult time of year.

Going off the subject for a bit, (my brain often wanders onto something else!) I have, in the past, had two cars, (my Saab was my baby, I adored that car!) I have driven all over the Country and absolutely love driving, I just seem to become a jibbering wreck when I hear the word 'test'. If they didn't tell me it was a 'test' and just pretended I was giving someone a lift, I would pass with flying colours! Hubby doesn't drive either, so we walk a lot (why am I not a size ten!).

Guess I'm just a natural moaner. Hey, could do it for a living! (Brain gone walkabout again!). Spend my days writing moany letters to Companies on behalf of people who are too busy to write them themselves, I could call my little Company 'Moanin' Minnies'
I almost started a business once with my Sister, doing insulting greetings cards, we have always loved writing insulting poems to each other (my big Brother joins in too!) in Birthday and Christmas cards, and putting different words to songs. We kept it to family and friends, and it went down very well, until it eventually sort of petered out (as did the number of our friends, he, he!). We still do it with family though.

Getting back to driving 'test', I just seem to go to pieces, it's like.....have you ever become aware of your tongue? It's weird, you suddenly realise you have this big muscle thing flopping about in your mouth and as soon as you are aware of it, you thtart to talk funny and looth control of it becauth you can feel it, thith great big thing your mouth! Ith enormuth!
This is what happens to me when anyone mentions the word 'test', I sit in the car and suddenly become aware of my arms, legs, head etc.. then realise I have to be aware of what is going on outside the car as well as what my arms and legs are doing inside the car, (driving is brilliant, almost automatic, you don't even have to think about these things normally, then you become AWARE!!! Dan, dan, Daaaaah!) all this while some guy is watching your every move and chuckling behind his clipboard, that's it! Brain overload!
I become this clumsy, awkward blob who can't control her body, my head suddenly feels too big on my neck, my fingers turn into big fat bendy rubber sausages, I can't remember right from left, nothing will do as it is told!
"Sorry you have failed!"
They shouldn't tell you it's a test until it is over!

Ok, what if we changed the word to "exam?"..ummm sounds too much like a visit to the gyno or the dentist.
Well at any rate, I think you need to grab the bull by the horns and take the darn "...."
You are obviously a very bright woman and can easily pass the ....
Driving is liberating, it will free you to do things you are prohibited to do now without it.
I say GO FOR IT!!
As far as the cards go, I think those sound hilarious and it could become something to bring extra income in plus give you the satisfaction of doing something for yourself.
I wish you luck.
Now go out there and take the damn ....!!
Have a great weekend.

don't talk to me about driving tests, i failed three times before packing it in for good. i just don't like cars (unless i'm in the passenger seat). anyway, all the roads will come to a gridlock one day and the pedestrian will reign supreme!

What do you know about David Petete, the artist singing that ridicously silly, catchy song on your blog? I did a google and could not find anything about him. I looked on Amazon.com, Borders, Barnes & NObles but cannot find anything about him or where to buy his music.

Very funny post! We still have seven weeks to go and already I'm counting them down until school starts. Sigh.

Thanks for letting me know how to get the song. I did download and buy the album. Love it!

Got a question for you. Since you posted the two photos of our President, I would like to know what other countries feel about him and our country and its politics in general.

Re: Politics.
See No7 of my tag list, I can't stand politics, just thought the pics were funny.
Why not do a post about politics on your blog then go on the help group, tell everyone about it and ask for comments? You would probably be inundated!

You poor thing! I, too, get nervous with these type tests, though. I bet it's very common. Hang in there!

I'm thinking about taking another driving test some time this month... (shudder)
The thing is though, I just don't get why people insist on driving stick shift. Come on! everybody knows automatics are better because... they leave your gun hand free :)

Umm... Just learning to drive...taking a permit test (United States) on Friday...luckily it's just a written one!

Then I must get behind the wheel with an instructor for 2 sessions of 3 hrs..

Next May I'll take the road test for my license...

Hmmm... I generally do well with tests, but driving is new to me...
