Don't you just love Bonfire Night?
I do.....and I don't. (Lean more towards the 'I do' though)
I love watching fireworks lighting up the sky, I have often thought how fabulous it must look from a plane. One year I'm going to treat myself to a Bonfire Night Flight (if they do that kind of thing?).
I used to love going to bonfires when I was younger, everyone would bring a potato and put it in the flames around the edge of the fire and by the time the firework displays had finished, our potatoes would be lovely and hot. Some people would bring hot soup, others parkin (parkin is a special type of cake which, for some unknown reason, us English only eat around Bonfire Night?) and others treacle toffee, it was a real neighbourly time. No-one seems to do that kind of thing any more (well, at least not round where I live).
Down side to it is, the fireworks nowadays seem to be just getting louder and louder, and are mainly bangs rather being visually impressive, this means we can't have our house alarm on around this time of year as the fireworks keep setting it off as they do with all the car alarms in the area too, so I usually sit up until the early hours waiting for all the bangs to finish before I can set the alarm and go to bed (no problem really, as since I started blogging I'm up most nights anyway).
I must say though, I feel sorry for anyone with animals, our dog used to be terrified when she was younger and wouldn't leave the house for the call of nature, she used to hide under the table, the bed or just sit on my knee shaking until it was all over.
Luckily now, she just couldn't care less anymore, then again, it could be that she is going deaf in her old age? No, no I think it's that she couldn't care less as she can still hear you unwrap a chocolate from about a mile away (no matter how hard you try not to make a sound!).
Anyway, hope everyone is careful with their fireworks and that you all have a real good time.

I know what you mean about the dogs not liking the fireworks, One dog I have sleeps right through them while the other turns into a quivering mass of jelly (that is going to have a heart attack and a stroke).
I like your blog, it has a lot going on.
