TIZWAZ!
This will only apply to UK bloggers, but did you see 'TIZWAZ Reunited'?
Bloody fantastic! It was one of the best programmes on TV, it brought back so many memories of my youth, that's saying a lot, can hardly remember what I did yesterday, never mind 30 years ago! (things like this happen when you get old! He, he).
Other programmes from the dinosaur era that I remember watching - 'Get Smart', 'Magpie', 'Mr Ed', 'Monty Python', 'My favorite Martian', 'Gilligan's Island', 'Petticoat Junction' and 'Greenacres'.
Ooooh, for the days of my youth!
I remember the day we got our first colour TV too, I ran home from school, dead excited! I sat and watched my first ever colour programme wide eyed and mouth agape! It was amazing! It was also, unfortunately, disgusting, because it happened to be an operation on the heart valve of a goat! Think I was about ten years old at the time, but I watched it all the way through just because it was in colour!
To watch TIZWAZ back then was SO rebelious! My family were 'very proper', us kids had to politely ask to leave the table after each meal, we had to clear our plates and eat whatever was put in front of us. Oh, how times have changed! Mine tells me what she wants, which is usually different from what I had planned to cook, mind you, her Father does the same! I end up making three different meals. Thinking of supplying a menu!
Anyway, back to TIZWAZ, all I can say is "Best laugh I've had in a long time".

There would have been more chance of Hell freezing over, than me missing TIZWAZ last weekend....Seeing Sally, Chris, Lenny and all the others was so nostalgic. What amazed me even more was that the humour hasn't aged at all!!!! Saturday mornings were always a dilema with many arguments in our household...would it be "Swapshop" or "TIZWAZ"? My favourite programme of the time was "Sapphire & Steel" With Joanna Lumley and David McCallum, and of course "Doctor Who" with Tom Baker...my goodness, it is all coming flooding back! Thanks for the memories and keep up this fantastic blog!!!! Graham x
Sapphire and Steel, I had forgotten about that one!
Eeeee! Those were the days!
I wasn't around for the original run of TISWAZ but on those lines (well it got me thinking anyway) I would like to see SMTV with ANT,DEC and CAT return in 10 years. Children's telly is the pits at the minute so I'm glad I may be of the last generation who would like to see a reunion programme from our youth. Can you really see adults wanting to see DICK AND DOM IN DA BUNGALOW in 25 years (da? what is da?! Speak English!)
So yes, bring on the reunions for future generations :)
I must admit, even for an old dinosaur, I also liked SMTV!
