LOCAL ANNUAL CARNIVAL

................................................................................................................................................................................................
Well, this weekend just gone was the local carnival and fair and needless to say, the heavens opened!
Everyone in the parade and everyone out in the street watching got soaked in between little bursts of sunshine.
It is such a shame, all the majorettes were dripping wet throwing their batons in the air and trying to smile and dance, the brass bands were soaked (I expected to see water shooting out from their tubas and trumpets every time they blew down them) the floats weren't as bad as the kids were under cover more but the carnival princesses and rosebuds were either huddled under umbrellas or sat inside the cars so you couldn't see them properly.
It has happened like this for a number of years now, although I still remember when it used to be glorious in July!
There was a fair at the local playing fields but going off the weather we have been having for weeks and weeks now, it would have just been a mud bath.
I usually take Little'Un but didn't fancy trawling through mud up to your knees eating rain sodden candy floss (cotton candy) and hotdogs and getting a wet bum off every ride you go on. Nah! think we'll pass.
Anyway, thats all for the moment. Hope you are having better weather where you are.
